Custom Classic Muscleman
While playing with my Bandai King Muscle figure from the Ultimate Muscle line, an idea hit me... why not make a custom classic Muscleman? Muscleman was always featured on MUSCLE merchandise wearing Robin Mask's armor (shown above). The idea was to take apart both a King Muscle figure and a Robin Mask figure, and then combine them into one figure that has the style of classic Muscleman. If I wanted to get really artsy-fartsy, I could paint him pink, red and blue to match the colors of the Muscleman on the MUSCLE packaging, but I didn't want to bother with that... I wanted to make this custom as simple as possible.
I needed two figures...
Robin Mask

...and King Muscle
(who is practicing head locks with himself) |

To start, I took apart each figure by unscrewing the 5 screws in their backs. Below you can see a dissected King Muscle (not for the faint of heart)...
Next you can see the "game plan", so to speak. In keeping consistent with the design of Muscleman, I used Robin Mask's torso and arms, and King Muscle's head, waist, and legs. I also used King Muscle's hands. Unfortunately, King Muscle's stomach would not fit in Robin Mask's upper-torso, so my plans for a tank-top were ruined.
Some of the parts of Robin Mask and King Muscle are slightly different. For example, the King Muscle neck would not fit in the Robin Mask body, so I had to detach the King head from its neck and put it on the Robin neck.
I simply screwed him back up, and he's ready to go! Classic Muscleman in all his glory!
Behold as Muscleman lifts his MUSCLE counterpart effortlessly!
Warsman apparently had the idea before I did, and took it a step further! He added flesh-colored paint to the waist and the neck, and it looks awesome! (He used King Muscle's arms instead of Robin Mask's.)
I guess that wraps everything up... but what about Robin Mask? I was planning on putting Robin together with King's left over parts, therefore constructing a shirtless Robin Mask! Unfortunately, Robin's waist was incompatible with King Muscle's stomach, and Robin's head had trouble staying on the King Muscle neck. Since Robin rejected his transplants, I must bid him farewell. RIP, Robin Mask (Rest In Pieces, that is).
