Teresa Palmer is Wonder Woman?
- Oct 26, 2007
According to MovieHole.net, Teresa Palmer landed the role of Wonder Woman in the upcoming Justice League movie. Hm... she seems awfully young (and somewhat like a person from MTV's "The Hills") to be considered a hardened Amazonian warrior-princess. In fact, I'd consider her as Wonder Girl in a Teen Titans movie before this. But let's keep an open mind, people...Labels: Comic Book Movies
I feel bad for this girl.
She’s going to have a really tough time for two reasons:
1. Wonder Woman has a revealing costume and is supposed to be pretty big. This girl doesn’t seem tall or muscular and a costume won’t be able to hide it.
2. There isn’t, in my opinion, a definitive Wonder Woman. Anyone can describe Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, but what about Wonder Woman? I feel that DC has always struggled with her. Not having something definitive to build from will be challenging, and probably lead to people bitching.
Of course, this could all be wrong and she’ll be great.
I think you're right in both counts. The only Wonder Woman that she would be compared to would be Linda Carter, and that was 20 years ago.
Not having a definitive Wonder Woman might be good, though. Since most people don't have a preconceived notion of what Wonder Woman should be like, they might be more accepting of differences.
You're right, though... it's not like DC has done a great job with defining the character. Maybe the movie will end up being the "definitive Wonder Woman".
